Decimate every all-terrain challenge. The 2023 F-150 Raptor R is coming - and it’s bringing supercharged performance to Saskatchewan. Ford has fused this platform with a 5.2L block that will leave drivers thrilled… and the competition quaking in the dust.


According to Car and Driver, the new F-150 Raptor R has been fitted with a Predator V8 engine. This aluminum block delivers a staggering 700 HP and 640 lb.-ft of torque (propelling the truck past its previous generations, which yielded 450 HP and 510 lb.-ft when equipped with the signature 3.5L V6). Mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, this suite boasts an upgraded converter and improved calibration - affording precise handling on the roughest terrain. A wider intake design assures greater air flow, yielding 66% more than past versions; while a revised oil cooler, custom exhaust manifold, and pulley configuration further assist performance. 

The 2023 Raptor R promises class-leading power on every trail - even when compared to its leading competitor, the 1500 TRX. While the Ram model boasts a marginally higher output (earning 702 HP and 650 lb.-ft of torque), Car and Driver notes that Ford’s lighter design sheds more than 100 pounds from the chassis; and this will translate to quicker speeds and a more fluid experience.

​​High-performance is coming across the pond - with Ford revealing that its 2023 Ranger Raptor will leave Australia’s sunny shores and rev toward North America. Prepare for a twin-turbo experience like no other. 


According to CNET, the Ranger Raptor will finally premiere in North America. Despite this next-gen platform’s overseas chart domination, it has been (woefully) kept away from Saskatchewan consumers. That will soon change, however - with Ford gearing up for a 2023 debut.

Official specs for this truck are, currently, scarce - but the few details CNET recently revealed should entice drivers. Anchoring the 2023 Ranger Raptor will be a twin-turbo 3.0L engine, which will deliver 393 HP and 430 lb.-ft of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission will assure peerless control, utilizing individual boost profiles to enhance gear responses; while anti-lag technology will optimize sequencing. 

Further bolstering the off-road experience will be an advanced suspension - which will pair 2.5-inch Fox Live Valve shocks with Trail Control technology. This will achieve smooth control on every terrain, reducing impact friction and stabilizing steerage. Dominate the backroads with ease.
