Whether you drive an off-road SUV like the Jeep Wrangler, a work-focused pickup such as the Ram 1500, or a sedan (the Chrysler 300, for example), you will want to be sure that the tires are in perfect working order.Â
You need to ensure proper functionality by keeping the correct air pressure in your tires. What steps can you take to accomplish this?Â
Most service centre technicians will suggest that tire pressure be between 30 and 35 PSI (pounds per square inch). You can find the manufacturer's recommendation for the maximum cold-weather reading on a sticker on the inside of the driver's door.Â
To check the PSI number, you can use a pressure gauge, which you insert into the valve stem. Make sure to do this when the temperature is cold, or at least three hours after turning the vehicle off (to give the wheels time to cool down).
