The 2021 Ram ProMaster – available from St. Paul Dodge in Alberta – fully embraces heavy loads with outstanding towing capacity of 3,134 kg (6,910 lbs) and a best-in-class standard V6 engine with 280 horsepower with 260 lb-ft of torque.Â
But it also promises versatility.
When compared to its main rival, the 2021 Nissan NV Cargo Van, the ProMaster can accommodate more freight with its three wheelbase options, including a 300-cm short, 345-cm regular and 404-cm long wheelbase. The 2021 NV Cargo Van, on the other hand, only offers one wheelbase that measures 371 cm.
The Ram is the vehicle of choice for commercial fleets that need every cubic metre of space for cargo and equipment. In its most compact form, the 2021 ProMaster 1500 (with the short wheelbase and standard roof) swallows up 7,340 L of volume. Stepping up to the high roof model, which comes with the regular wheelbase, increases capacity to 9,993 L. To achieve the most cargo-carrying versatility, the 2021 ProMaster 3500 (with the available extended body, long wheelbase and high roof) defies convention with 13,107 L volume.Â
The 2021 NV simply cannot compare. With the standard roof, fleets gain 6,628 L of capacity, while the high roof model only provides a maximum of 9,149 L.Â
