The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee comes with three different engine options. These choices allow Alberta drivers to find the mix of efficiency, torque, and strength that best works for their specific needs. Here is a closer look at the trio of powertrains. 2.4L TigerShark I-4
This base engine, standard on Sport and North trims, brings 180 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque. That is sufficient muscle to tow 907 kg, which is more than enough for most Alberta drivers' recreational needs. The biggest advantage is the fuel economy rating of 9.3 L/100 km (combined).
3.2L Pentastar V6
This engine is standard on 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude and higher trims. It ups the towing max to 2,041 kg and increases the horsepower and torque to 271 and 239 lb-ft, respectively. You also get an economy rating of 10.6 L/100 km (combined), which is impressive for a V6.Â
2.0L Turbo
The unique turbo engine, available for the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude and Limited, offers a little bit of everything. It can tow 1,800 kg and deliver 295 lb-ft of torque while getting 9.8 L/100 km (combined).Â
