Big changes have happened to the Nissan Maxima as engineers and designers worked tirelessly to revamp the company’s luxury car. The 2016 model sits 1.3 inches lower and is 2.2 inches longer, giving it a sleek, elegant look. Structural rigidity has been increased to improve handling and efficiency.
An additional upgrade includes what’s under the hood. The 2016 Nissan Maxima SR has been equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine, allowing it to generate 10 extra horsepower. Producing a whopping 300 hp and 261 pound-feet of torque, this 5-passenger midsize sedan gets 25 mpg combined (22 city/30 highway).
The SR trim level adds sport-tuned suspension and 19-inch wheels for a smoother ride. The heated, leather seats are accented with suede and ventilated for comfort. An 8-inch touchscreen displays the navigation system, and Bluetooth connectivity enables smartphone integration for hands-free calling.Â
According to Edmunds, this stylish vehicle earned an impressive five out of five stars in the overall crash protection rating, making it a safe option for families. Trunk space is ample at 14.3 cubic feet, providing plenty of room for cargo.
