The future of mid-size performance has arrived - but is it coming to North America? Ford has unveiled its 2023 Ranger Platinum in Europe, sending V6 shockwaves through the automotive market; but critics at home have been (not-so-patiently) wondering when they’ll get to sample this turbocharged ride.

The answer is, sadly, not until next year.


According to Motor One, the 2023 Ranger Platinum won’t arrive in North America in time for the holiday rush. Instead a third-quarter debut next year is anticipated - leaving Saskatchewan drivers unable to access its many upgrades. Among those are:
 
Power 

The 2023 Ranger Platinum boasts a 3.2L five-cylinder diesel, which delivers up to 247 HP and 443 lb.-ft of torque. Anchored by an upgraded 10-speed automatic transmission (which has been specially mounted to reduce both vibration and noise), it offers peerless V6 capability.

Performance

The 2023 Ranger Platinum has been fitted with an all-wheel-drivetrain, which yields full-time power; while an enhanced electronic control unit maintains seamless terrain performance. 

Style

The 2023 Ranger Platinum rides on 20-inch machined-face wheels. Daytime running lights and LED cluster headlamps anchor the front, while the radiator grille has been revised to deliver a sportier profile.

Anchoring the new Ranger Lariat is a series of exterior upgrades. The Chrome Appearance Package perfectly complements the truck’s lean profile (211 inches in length, 78 inches in width, and 72 inches in height). 18-inch PVD wheels assure a rugged stance, while the front and rear bumpers boast a striking metallic frame. The mirrors are capped in a silver finish; dual tow hooks sit below the black mesh grille; and an exhaust tip showcases the sporty capability of the 2.3L EcoBoost engine. 

Bright-polished punches of chrome run throughout the 2023 Ranger Lariat - affording drivers a sleek effect. They are ably assisted by wheel-lip mouldings, LED lighting, and available five-inch rectangular running boards; and all details are complemented by the nine optional exterior paint colours (which include Velocity Blue Metallic and Hot Pepper Red Metallic).
