These safety features are standard on all trims, so you do not have to upgrade to get protection. Blind-spot monitoring has radar sensors to detect vehicles traveling to the right or left behind the Mazda CX-5 at a rate of more than 30 km/h. A signal lights up on the power-adjustable mirrors to indicate the presence of another car. An audible beep sounds if you attempt to change lanes at this time. RCTA uses the same detectors as BSM to locate oncoming traffic as you reverse out of a parking space or driveway. It also relies on icon and audio alerts.Â
