Itâ€™s been a big year for Nissanâ€™s luxury brand, and true to character, they're giving back â€” in more ways than one. Outside of creating premier vehicles that cater to Washington driversâ€™ needs, INFINITI has donated more than $8 million to various charities through their partnership with the NCAA. During the 2018 season alone, the company has dispersed $1.1 million to a multitude of philanthropic organizations.

In collaboration with the National Association of Basketball Coaches, Phil Oâ€™Connor, the director of Marketing Communications and Media at INFINITI Americas proudly presented two notable checks last week. The first one awarded $774,180 to the American Cancer Society, which has helped to increase the number of survivors to 15 million strong.

Additionally, through the organization's sponsored Coaches Challenge and CBS Round-by-Round Bracket tournament, they also raised $349,000 to be distributed among a conglomerate of viable foundations, as chosen by participant winners of the event. For example, Dave Rose, head coach at Brigham Young University was the 2018 champ of the CCC and decided to allocate $100,000 to benefit the Simmons Center for Cancer Research at BYU.

Here at INFINITI of Tacoma, we are always on the lookout for new ways to get involved with our community. And with our special interest in supporting the local troops through our relationship with the Joint Base Lewis McChord military facilities, we are proud to be sponsors of the JBLMâ€™s Youth Program.

Run and operated through the Family and Morale Welfare and Recreation organization, the optional curriculum aims to empower the involved children through leadership, sportsmanship, and teamwork. With skill-building activities, the YP offers kids the perfect environment to cultivate and build both self-esteem and self-confidence. Furthermore, it helps to reduce the likelihood of situations and behaviors that often put our juniors at risk.

Through ongoing annual backing, our monetary contributions go towards providing uniforms, equipment, training, and the like so that our local Washington youth can learn and grow in a nurturing and safe space. Some of the sports offered through the MWR include golf, softball, soccer, volleyball, basketball, tennis, and cheerleading.

INFINITI of Tacoma is proud to serve and support Washingtonâ€™s troops. With endless gratitude to the brave men and women who help keep our country and communities safe, our dealership is always keen to give back in whichever ways we can â€” which is why we are honored to be a sponsor of the Newcomers Orientation at Joint Base Lew McChord.

Taking place on the third Tuesday of every month, the event is held for all personnel that haveÂ recently been stationed at JBLM â€” even if they are not necessarily new to the military. During the dayâ€™s program, there are a series of intermissions where cohorts are free to roam the grounds and learn about the many resources in their area.
