Into the arts? Consider yourself pretty darn refined? Simply like watching movies and celebrating the medium? In any of those cases, you’re going to adore the upcoming Shoreline Short Short Film Festival on April 6, 2019, at the Shoreline Community College Theater.

Doors open for this event at 6 p.m.—screenings of the films begin at 7. Tony Doupe, SAG/AFTRA Actor and Shoreline Community College Film Department Professor, Vivian Hua, the Northwest Film Forum’s Executive Director, and Jenna Edwards, founder of Indie Movie Mastery, will be judging the short drama, comedy, and music films. Awards include $500 for Best Picture, $250 for Best Comedy, $250 for Best Student Film, and $250 for Viewer’s Choice (you get to vote)!

In our previous entry here, we mentioned how Willows Lodge in Woodinville was a fantastic destination for a romantic getaway. Of equal interest to those that want to spend some quality time with someone they love is Salish Lodge and Spa.

Salish Lodge and Spa in Snoqualmie Falls is only a half-hour from Seattle. First built in 1916, it’s a hotel that’s been completely renovated for modern times. Guest rooms boast such amenities as wood-burning fireplaces, whirlpool tubs and if you’re blessed with a higher-floor room, some wonderful views of the falls. (Bookings start at $199 a night.) If you’re searching for something to do this upcoming March, why not plan a weekend getaway to Port Townsend?

Located on the Olympic Peninsula, Port Townsend is a haven for artists and outside-the-box thinkers. It’s also picturesque and historic, acting as a Victorian seaport with gorgeous architecture. Heyday Farm offers a rustic getaway for those that need a break from the typical. Set on 25 acres, the 1890s farmhouse offers hens, dairy cows, and strawberry, raspberry, and blueberry bushes. There are cooking classes, planting sessions, and cow-milking experiences available.
