Powered by a high-response 110-kW AC synchronous electric motor fed by a 40-kWh laminated lithium-ion battery, the Leaf slays the road with 147 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. Equipped with front-wheel drive and a single-speed reducer transmission, it has an EPA-estimated range of 150 miles, which is much higher than past models. With the 6.6 kW onboard charger, the Leaf can also refresh the battery in 7.5 hours using a 220V line. Acceleration sits at a solid 7.4 secondsÂ when travelling from 0 to 60 mph.

Youâ€™ll love the tech features on the S trim as well, which include an e-Pedal Mode with Hill Hold Assist for one-pedal driving using the accelerator. Automatic Emergency Braking also keeps you safe in high-traffic situations, while the 7.0-inch information display lets you stay connected to loved ones with Bluetooth hands-free calling and a text messaging assistant. The automatic temperature control system with a timer is handy when you want to pre-cool or pre-warm the cabin for your commute.
