No other all-electric vehicle is as celebrated as the Nissan Leaf. Drivers across the globe hail this EV for its affordable price point, low cost of ownership, limited environmental impact and nice driving dynamics. If these characteristics appeal to you too, then you might want to consider testing driving a preowned 2013 Leaf S at Kirkland Nissan in Seattle, Washington. Â Â
Â
This particular model is energized by a 24kWh lithium-ion battery pack and features an 80kW/107-horsepower motor, which outputs 187 lb-ft of torque. With this combination, the Leaf can hit 60 mph in about 10 seconds, topping out at 90 mph. And if range is important to you, you’ll be happy to know that the 2013 Leaf achieves 84 miles when driving on a fully recharged battery.
Â
Inside, the S trim level comes decently equipped with automatic climate controls, keyless access with push-button start, heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and a four-speaker audio system with Bluetooth connectivity and a USB port for portable music players. A common complaint of electric vehicles is poor range and long charging times. But, that’s not the case with the 2013 Nissan Leaf SV. This preowned EV features clever enhancements, allowing Seattle area drivers to go farther on less.
Â
One of the main improvements that Nissan made to the Leaf was its aerodynamics. This model features “smart fluidityâ€, which the manufacturer describes as a fusion of sophisticated aerodynamic management and aerodynamic acoustics. With this design, the smooth elegant movement of the body starts from the low compact hood and passes over the car’s shoulders towards the large rear spoiler. The result is less drag and better aerodynamics, thus enhancing the Leaf’s efficiency.
Â
Nissan also engineered the 2013 Leaf with a newly available 6.6 kW onboard charger. This technology cuts the 220V’s charging time in half to just four hours. That’s a huge time-saver for busy commuters who can’t afford extended periods of interruption between trips.
Â
Then there’s the available “B†drive mode, which allows drivers to engage in a greater level of regenerative braking while decelerating as a way to extend the Leaf’s range. This feature is only available on 2013 Leaf SV and SL models, and is in addition to the normal and Eco drive modes.
Â
Of course, the best way to experience the quick charging, highly efficient and extended range of the Leaf is by scheduling a test drive at Kirkland Nissan in Seattle, Washington. Our preowned inventory is outfitted with a number of used 2013 models with some of the best prices in the area.
