In 2001 gaming developer Bungie introduced the world to a virtual experience like no other: Halo. This first-person platform delivered an intricate story and dynamic visuals, launching it to the forefront of popular culture and driving sales for the Xbox, the Vista and the MAC.
It’s soon to deliver big rewards for Ford as well - because, according to Digital Trends, a Halo-inspired F-150 is on the way.
To celebrate the upcoming release of Halo 5: Guardians, Ford is teaming with Microsoft to create the Sandcat. This F-150 variant is a BAJA XTR off-roader. It boasts Galpin shocks, side steps and military-style mods. Its 3.5L engine promises EcoBoost efficiency, while Deaver leaf springs ensure a smooth ride across even the toughest roads.
Inside drivers will discover a custom interior (complete with an Xbox One and two display screens), and the signature Halo olive color dominates the exterior. It’s the ultimate gaming machine.
Want to test it out? We certainly do. Truck Trend reports, however, that this F-150 is (currently) intended only for display and will be used as a showcase for gaming events. The Novlan team hopes that popular demand will sway Ford to release the Sandcat to the public, however, and bring a bit of Halo into the real world.

The F-150 isn’t a sports car. It doesn’t deliver high speeds and higher torque, sending drivers down each road in a whirl of tires and transmission fumes - or does it? A recent change to the engine promises something new.
Ford has fused the F-150 with a sports mode!

According to Digital Trends, the 2016 F-150 will feature a sports mode. This option - which borrows heavily from Ford’s other favorite, the Mustang - will allow the pick-up to maintain accelerated speeds for greater periods of time. It will optimizes low gear performance, while increasing power bands. This will let the truck rev through even the toughest environments with the mere push of a button.
The introduction of sports technology is the latest in a series of transformations for the F-150. In a quest to revitalize the North American market, Ford has been tweaking the design all season - bringing drivers duel fuel capabilities, trailer assist systems, SYNC 3 consoles and more. These elements combine for a pick-up unlike any other.
And the Novlan team can’t wait to try it out!

When specs for the 2015 F-150 were revealed, the automotive world reeled. A pick-up made of aluminum? How could it provide the necessary strength? How could it endure the daily demands of towing, hauling and off-road driving? It was, most critics thought, a mistake.
Soaring popularity and record-breaking quarters, however, have proven it to be nothing less than a success - and Ford now intends to build upon this success by introducing drivers to its 2016 model.
According to Torque News, the 2016 F-150 will rely much on its predecessor’s design (this includes the use of aluminum framing). It will simply fuse the platform with five unique traits:
Exterior color options will expand to include Shadow Black and Lithium Gray.
Trim options will expand to include upgraded headlights, redesigned grilles, 20-inch wheels and more.
Tech options will now include the Pro-Trailer Backup Assist system.
Tech options will also include the SYNC 3.
Engine options will now include dual fuel capabilities (specifically natural gas).
Through these subtle changes Ford will yet again redefine the pick-up market, connecting drivers to the platform they deserve.
No production schedule has yet been released for the 2016 F-150. The Novlan team expects, however, that it will arrive early next year - and we can’t wait.
The Ford F-150’s origins are wrapped in blue collars and dusty fingerprints. The truck has become a staple of the North American workforce, delivering power and performance in even the harshest industrial environments. A upcoming upgrade, however, will change that.
According to the LA Times, the F-150 will soon receive a luxury makeover. Ford - desiring to expand its market domination - will fuse the pick-up with a series of upgrades, creating the most dynamic half-ton option in both Canada and the United States. Drivers should expect:
22-inch polished aluminum wheels.
Laser-carved identification numbers.
Satin finishes.
Chrome badging.
Premium leather seats.
Eucalyptus wood trim.
Technology systems (including trailer backup assistance, forward collision alerts, self-parking and a 360-degree camera).
Exterior redesigns (including a new grille).
Excited? We certainly are!
This F-150 design will be available in 2016, giving all drivers something to look forward to.

The F-150 is many things - powerful, dependable, durable. Few, however, have deemed it aerodynamic. Its signature box shape is more suited to backroad towing than efficiency.
In its quest for superior economy, however, Ford has recently redefined its signature pick-up, bringing precision to every line. The air curtain has arrived.
According to Gas 2, Ford will soon fuse the F-150 with an air curtain (a specialized vent beneath the headlamps that redistributes wind flow). This design will decrease overall drag, allowing the truck to sustain best-in-class mileage ratings of 19 city MPG and 26 highway MPG. This, when combined with aluminum framing and an EcoBoost engine, ensures enhanced fuel results.
It also ensures that drivers receive more than power from their pick-ups - with a fluid platform promising fewer stops at the pump. Save time, save money, save patience.

Across the southwestern corner of the United States is a treacherous stretch of sand. Desertscapes - dunes, dust and deep ruts - shape the miles, and few drivers dare to travel across. Their engines, they fear, would surely fail in such an unforgiving environment.
Ford isn’t seeking forgiveness. It’s instead seeking a challenge - which is why it recently put its 2017 F-150 Raptor through a series of grueling desert tests.
According to Mustang and Fords, the F-150 Raptor conquered a 1000-mile route through the southwest. It powered through sand washes, rolled over silt beds and climbed steep hills: all while maintaining steady speeds of 50 MPH. This number proves important, being 25% faster than the last Raptor variant and showcasing new design improvements. These include:
A 3.5L V6 engine.
Direct fuel injection technology.
Twin turbo-charge technology.
Bolted-on steel powertrain.
Enhanced off-road suspension.
Aluminum bodywork.
These elements combines for a lighter, fiercer Raptor - one that can effortlessly conquer even the harshest roads.
