Electric efficiency now translates to track success - with the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning proving a finish-line competitor to the most unlikely of rivals.

According to Inside EVs, the new F-150 Lightning has proven itself at the pump (delivering a segment-leading 76 MPGe in the city and 61 MPGe on the highway, courtesy of its dual electric motor configuration). For those craving quicksilver speeds, however, it may also lead the pack - keeping pace with the Lambo Huracan.

Pitted in a race that crossed both segment lines and expectations, the 2022 F-150 Lightning pushed itself to the limit - going lap for lap against the famed Huracan. Lamborghini’s forged-composite supercar is tailored for speed, fusing each rev with Pirelli P Zero performance and an aspirated V10. It’s a dual-clutch masterpiece that yields 630 HP and 442 lb.-ft of torque; and it seems a peculiar choice to test Ford’s EV pick-up.

Critics were pleased to discover, however, that the new F-150 Lightning earned an impressive performance against the Huracan, with its lithium-ion battery generating 426 HP. Its standard 4x4 configuration allowed for near instant torque delivery, taking advantage of the available 775 lb.-ft; and this provided a 0 to 60 blitz of 4 seconds - barely trailing behind Lamborghini’s 2.6. The two maintained a virtually even breakneck pace down the track, proving that Ford’s latest pick-up is ready for more than the highway.

Inject segment-shattering performance into every ride - with the 2022 Ford F-150 embracing the Go Further philosophy. Anchored by an available 5.0L Ti-VCT V8, this pick-up dominates terrains and the competition with equal ease.

Consider how it compares to the new GMC Sierra 1500.

Peek beneath the hood of the 2022 F-150 (if you dare) and discover an aluminum block. The 5.0L V8 generates an impressive 400 HP and 410 lb.-ft of torque, allowing it to rev past every challenge. Roller finger followers assure increased lift for top-end power, while port fuel and direct injection technologies yield superior resource distribution - especially when paired with start/stop functionality. This engine is also assisted by an electronic 10-speed automatic transmission, which enables superior control.

The 2022 GMC Sierra 1500, however, yields a less robust experience. It features a 5.3L V8 that generates a mere 355 HP and 383 lb.-ft of torque; and it can’t even compensate for the lack of speed with a superior economy rating (it earns only 21 MPG on the highway compared to the F-150’s 24 MPG.

The 2022 F-150 proves the ultimate pick-up performer. To learn more about how it fares against the new Sierra 1500 contact Novlan Bros today.
Fuse adventures with excellence - slipping inside the 2022 Ford F-150. This class-leading pick-up promises a seamless ride, boasting a carefully crafted interior that will deliver the space and comfort Saskatchewan drivers deserve; and it leaves its Chevy Silverado 1500 competitor trailing far behind.

Slide into the new F-150 and discover an accommodating cabin. A five-rider configuration boasts ample head (40.8 inches, 40.4 inches), leg (43.9 inches, 43.6 inches), and shoulder (66.7 inches, 66.0 inches) room. Leather-trimmed bucket seats deliver 10-way power adjusters to the driver and co-pilot; while rear passengers can indulge in elongated cushions and an optional heating function. Dual-zone automatic temperature controls assure optimal interior conditions, and a bevy of modern conveniences - including Intelligent Access with Push Button Start, adjustable pedals, and a 12-inch productivity screen - further impress.

The new F-150 yields a refined experience, unlike its Chevy competitor. The 2022 Silverado 1500, despite offering a six-passenger configuration, falls short of Ford’s spacious design - particularly in the rear. The limited head (40.12 inches), leg (43.4 inches), and shoulder (65.16 inches) will leave riders underwhelmed.

Curious about how the 2022 F-150 compares to its other competitors? Contact Novlan Bros today to learn more.
