The standard motor is Canada’s favourite 3.6-litre V6 from Pentastar. Fitted on the Tradesman and Big Horn, it comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission, the eTorque mild hybrid system, and your choice of a 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrain, Delivering 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque (plus 90 lb-ft of launch torque), it can tow up to 3,496 kg (7,710 lb).
 

Next is the 5.7-litre HEMI V8 with or without eTorque. Paired with the same transmission and drivetrain options, it pushes out 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, the towing range is between 5,175 and 5,783 kg (11,410 and 12,750 lb) depending on the configuration. This powertrain is standard on the Sport, Rebel, Laramie, Limited Longhorn, and Limited.
 

If you prefer an alternative to gasoline, you can opt for the 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V6. It is available for the Rebel, Laramie, Limited Longhorn, and Limited trims, and it makes 260 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque. With the same transmission and drivetrain selections, its hauling range is between 4,472 and 5,696 kg (9,860 and 12,560 lb).
 

Finally, the beastly TRX uses a supercharged 6.2-litre HEMI V8 partnered with the 8-speed automatic transmission and a full-time 4x4 system. Churning out a staggering 702 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque, it is the most powerful engine in its class. While the towing limit is capped at 3,673 kg (8,100 lb), it makes up for it with a Best-In-Class acceleration time of 4.5 seconds.
 

2022 Ram 2500 in BC

The next step up in terms of strength and sheer force is the 2022 Ram 2500 lineup. Available in six trim levels - including the Tradesman, Big Horn, Power Wagon, Laramie, Limited Longhorn, and Limited - this heavy-duty pickup offers drivers an exceptional performance with two robust engines.
 

The first is a 6.4-litre HEMI V8 that generates a Best-In-Class 410 hp. Mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission with adaptive electronic control, it can pull an attachment weighing up to 7,956 kg (17,540 lb) without breaking a sweat.
 

For an alternative to conventional gasoline, you can always opt for the available 6.7-litre Turbo Diesel Inline-6 crafted by Cummins. Pushing out 370 hp and 850 lb-ft of torque, it comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission and the ability to tow up to 9,072 kg (20,000 lb) with ease.
 

2022 Ram 3500 in BC

The most powerful model in the 2022 Ram family is the heavy-duty 3500. Available in five trim levels, you can choose between the Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, Limited Longhorn, and Limited for your next set of wheels. It is also worth noting that the engine lineup is similar to the aforementioned motors for the Ram 2500.
 

First is the 6.4-litre HEMI V8. Thanks to Variable Valve Timing and MDS technology, it produces 410 hp and 429 lb-ft of torque.
 

Next is the 6.7-litre Turbo Diesel Inline-6 from Cummins which delivers 385 hp and 850 lb-ft of torque.
 

Finally, the hardest working engine on the market today is the 6.7-litre Turbo Diesel High Output Inline-6 from Cummins. Pumping out 420 hp and 1,075 lb-ft of torque (Best-In-Class), this beast can haul up to 16, 828 kg (37,100 lb).
