Instead comfort is needed - with Alberta drivers demanding ample cabin dimensions. The pick-up market, they argue, can no longer be exempt from everyday convenience.

Ram agrees. This is why it’s paired the 2021 1500 with a spacious interior - allowing passengers to experience the comfort they deserve. Within the standard crew cab discover a six-rider configuration, with generous proportions offered across both rows:

2021 Ram 1500: Measurements
Head Room: 40.9 inches, 39.8 inches
Leg Room: 40.9 inches, 45.2 inches
Hip Room: 63.4 inches, 63.4 inches

The interior of the new 1500 has been carefully crafted, with Ram emphasizing passenger comfort. Pair its spacious design with plush cloth seating, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and four-way adjusters to assure an optimum highway experience. This pick-up won’t disappoint.

Its rival - the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - might, however. Despite sharing a similar crew cab design, this platform proves less accommodating for passengers: particularly in regards to hip room (61.18 inches, 60.24 inches) and rear leg room (43.4 inches). Second row riders may find themselves struggling to enjoy the adventure.

Massive engines demand equally massive amounts of fuel, after all.

With the release of the 2021 1500, however, Alberta drivers are able to receive a reprieve at the pump - with this model earning up to 20 MPG in the city and 25 MPG on the highway. How does it achieve such a high rating? Ram has paired it with two key technologies:

One - A standard 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine anchors the 1500. This block utilizes both variable valve timing and revised thermal management to enhance sequencing. It’s been carefully tuned to optimize fuel distribution, while its eight-speed automatic transmission seamlessly bolsters every rev.

Two - Active grille shutters flank the front of the new 1500. These (when complemented by a precisely sculpted hood) help to reduce overall drag, redirecting currents as needed to improve aerodynamics.

These technologies combine to assure maximum economy, allowing the 2021 1500 to achieve a top-tier MPG rating. It also promises total pump domination over the new Tundra. Toyota’s gas-guzzling V8 earns only 13 MPG in the city and 17 MPG on the highway - forcing drivers to frequently stop their adventures and fill-up. Fun will be compromised.
