2021 Ford Explorer Timberline Poised To Dominate BC, Canada

Prepare, BC, for a new kind of all-terrain experience. The 2021 Explorer Timberline will soon arrive - and it’s promising to shatter expectations and borderlines with equal ease.

Ford is injecting EcoBoost performance into every adventure. The 2021 Timberline - which is currently scheduled for a summer release - features the brand’s signature 2.3L inline-four engine, connecting BC drivers to 300 HP and 310 lb.-ft of torque; while its Class III capabilities afford an impressive 5,300 pounds of trailering. Segment-leading power is assured.

The new Explorer delivers more than strength, however. Instead Ford is fusing this platform with an off-road sensibility - providing four-wheel performance and superior terrain management.

The 2021 Explorer Timberline has been engineered to thrill - delivering a series of off-road technologies to the BC market.

Anchoring this platform is an Intelligent 4WD. This system optimises every rev - utilizing digital sensors that continually assess both terrain conditions and operator inputs. This affords simultaneous responses, with automatic torque adjustments creating a stable ride. Unwanted wheel-spin is negated, and traction is enhanced. Additionally, a Torsen limited-slip rear differential serves as a perfect complement, diverting energy as needed among the tires to promote seamless control.

Further assisting the Timberline is its custom-tuned chassis - which pairs stabilizer bars with heavy-duty shocks to counter rough terrains. Front-mounted rebound springs greatly reduce friction, while Bridgestone Dueler P265/65R-18 tires boast high side-wall support and all-season treads to enhance balance. This creates a smooth ride on every trail.

Ford has raised the platform 0.8 inches in height; and, though this number may (at first) seem unimpressive, it yields dynamic results on the backroads.

The Timberline can effectively navigate all conditions - delivering a total ground clearance of 8.7 inches. Its 23.5 degree approach angle affords a seamless ride up sudden inclines, while its 23.7 degree departure angle maximizes reversals. No longer fear rough terrain. This platform has been precisely calibrated to impress; and, should BC drivers find themselves facing rocky paths, the integrated underbody skid plates will offer further assistance (shielding the engine, transmission, and rear suspension from debris).

This proves the ultimate SUV for those wishing to Go Further
