6.2 L Flex-Fuel V8

The first engine that typically comes with the 2022 Ford F-250 is the 6.2-litre 2-valve Fuel-Flex V8. Paired with the TorShift G 6-speed SelecShift automatic transmission and your choice of 4x2 or 4x4, it generates 385 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. Using a specially-tuned induction system and sequential electronic fuel injection, it takes 87 octane.

The cylinder head is made from lightweight aluminum, and the block is crafted out of cast iron. Functioning with a ruler rocker shaft valve operation and silent chain camshaft drive, it has a compressions ratio of 9.8:1. The maximum towing capacity is 6,803 kg (15,000 lbs), and it goes up 7,166 kg (15,800 lb) with the proper equipment such as a 5th-Wheel or Gooseneck attachment.

6.7 L Power Stroke Diesel V8

It uses a turbocharger induction system and boasts a block built from compacted graphite iron. The valve operation is a push-rod/rocker arm mechanism, and the compression ratio is measured at 16.2:1. To power this piece of machinery, you need to put in ultra-low sulfur diesel or B20. With an attachment, it can haul up to 9,071 kg (20,000 lbs) as is. With the appropriate package, this is pushed up to 10,341 kg (22,800 lbs).

7.3 L V8

Finally, the last available engine is the 7.3-litre 2-valve V8. Using the same mechanisms as the diesel version, it delivers 430 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque. Although many of the design elements are shared with the other gasoline engine, the compression ratio is slightly higher at 10.5:1.

It combines push-rod/rocker arm valve operation with a silent chain camshaft drive, and it uses the same 87 octane fuel. Depending on the body style (Regular, Super, and Crew Cab), it can tow up to 6,803 kg (15,000 lbs) without breaking a sweat. With a 5th-Wheel or Gooseneck, that number increases to 8,845 kg (19,500 lbs). Keep in mind that for all engines, the maximum hauling limit will also change based on the bed length and axle ratio.
