With the release of the 2022 F-150 Lightning, Ford is changing how homes are generated during a blackout. By adding the available Intelligent Backup Power system, you can turn your truck into the ultimate power source to keep the lights on, fridges running and your family safe.Enabled by an available 80-amp Ford Charge Station Pro and home management system, the 2022 F-150 Lightning can automatically offload 9.6 kilowatts of power when the grid goes down. When equipped with the truck’s extended-range battery, that’s enough to provide full-home power for up to three days, based on an average 30kWh of use per day, or up to 10 days if power is rationed. When the grid is restored, the truck automatically reverts to battery charging mode, so you’re ready for anything.
Whether sheltering in place during an ice storm or keeping cool in a heatwave, the 2022 F-150 Lightning provides power to BC fleets when it's needed most.
