Evening hauls never prove easy - with dark roads straining your eyes and your patience. You switch on high-beams, only to turn them off again as another vehicle approaches (you don’t, after all, want to blind passing drivers with too-bright LEDs). The pattern repeats throughout the night, and frustration defines your payload.
Ford sympathizes - which is why it’s paired the 2020 F-150 with automatic high-beam tech.
Experience seamless control with help from the new F-150. At the front of this light-duty truck are automatic high-beams. These headlamps boast advanced sensor technology, allowing them to instantly recognize when lighting conditions have changed (such as when dusk arrives). They then cast a wide LED path, greatly enhancing overall visibility and allowing BC drivers to efficiently navigate. Â
The true value of these lights, however, is their automated shut-off function. A windshield-mounted camera scans the road, assessing a distance of approximately 700 metres. When this system detects an approaching vehicle, it then sends a signal to the headlamps and activates their low-beam settings. This spares passing motorists a potentially blinding glare and lessens the chance of a collision.
