If you want to experience the joy of racing in a safe, controlled environment, then you should think about reservist a spot at the 3rd Annual Track Day in BC.

The 3rd Annual Track Day Invitational hosted by Skaha Ford is coming up on June 2, 2022. If you plan of hitting the straightaways for the first time, then you may need to familiarize yourself with some safety tips.
First, let’s explore the various flag colours and what each one means. You will see the following shades on the racetrack:
- Green: Go or start
- Blue: Allow a quicker car to pass
- Yellow: Caution or slow down
- Black: Return to the pit
- Red: Stop
- White: Only one lap remains
- Checkered: The race is over
It’s important to understand the meanings of the flags because this is how officials communicate with the drivers.
Another key to having a successful - and fun - run is to dress appropriately. You definitely need a helmet. Most professionals prefer one with Snell date codes M2010 or M2015. These are more recent. You should also do some research on racing or hire a private coach beforehand.
Finally, you need to eat and stay well hydrated. Make sure to bring easily digestible snack foods and plenty of water. You don’t want to get nauseous or dizzy during the event. Do not consume alcohol within 24 hours of the race.

Once you have enjoyed Skaha Ford's Track Day event at Area 27 in BC and taken the One Day Camaro Driving Academy, there's still more to explore. That way, you can keep learning and honing those on-the-course skills.At the 2.5 Day Camaro Driving Academy, drivers get to apply intermediate techniques, including corner set-up, weight transfers, and entry and exit phases. The following morning, they'll take to the entire circuit with a walk and then one-on-one feedback from the instructor regarding lapping.
After the one-on-one instruction, students can then take to the whole track for themselves with open lapping. Everyone will also get a comprehensive group and individual evaluation to hone their essential driving skills further. And once everything is complete, certificates of recognition will be handed out, as well.

Skaha Ford's Track Day is sure to ignite a yearning for the course. That's why Area 27 offers many types of high-speed experiences which members can enjoy in BC.Speed demons can also enjoy the Conti Cup GTU Series, where cars with less than 250 horsepower take to the track. Due to the minimal modifications rules in place, drivers are assured of a more competitive race at lower costs.
Then there's the Radical SR3 Championship Series, which is an open cockpit race experience. These cars have a low-maintenance chassis and power train, yet they can still achieve thrilling speeds.
Finally, there's the RS1 Track Car race, in which the cars crank out up to 450 horsepower via a 4-speed transmission. Members can take advantage of these fuelled, tuned, and ready-to-drive vehicles for the ultimate high-speed experience.

Once you savour Area 27 in BC after attending Skaha Ford's Track Day event, you may want to bring friends so they can experience it, too. Fortunately, members are allowed to have up to 15 companions come with them—plus attendees are also entitled to drive non-street-legal vehicles.That's right, bring your modded car and drive it as it was meant to be during designated times offered to non-street-legal vehicles (as long as it meets sound levels). Motorcycles are welcome as well, and they are provided separate opportunities for riding.
Members also may have spouses and dependents (up to 27 years old) accompany them, and you can add other family members from 28 to 35 for a small additional fee. That way, the whole gang is afforded the chance of on-the-track thrills in BC.
