In one of our previous postings, we discussed the legacy of the Ford Bronco dating back to World War II. Now, ahead of this week’s unveiling of the all-new 2021 Bronco, we wanted to take a moment to once again revisit history and speak on the vehicle’s racing impact.
That’s right. The original Bronco—first released in 1966—made an appearance at the 1969 Baja 1000 motorsport race. Founded by Ed Pearlman and run on the Baja California Peninsula in northwestern Mexico, it’s one of the world’s most prestigious off-road races… and drivers Larry Minor and Rod Hall captured an overall win in a Bronco at the grueling event in ’69. It’s a feat no other production 4x4 has achieved in 50 years.
Now, Ford is set to bring the Bronco back. The 2021 iteration will be revealed on National Geographic, ESPN, and ABC at 8 p.m. EDT this Monday, July 13th. It’s an event set to inspire enthusiasts in Penticton and beyond.
