Taking a muscle car like the 2021 Dodge Challenger onto Langley's highways is different from the race track, but that's no problem - courtesy of its many available add-ons designed to monitor the area around you. First, there's the optional Blind-Spot Monitoring system.
This system employs radar sensors to monitor your blind spots constantly. If a vehicle is detected there during a lane change at speeds above approximately 30 km/h (19 mph), both audible and visual warnings on the relevant side mirror will activate. Likewise, it also includes Rear Cross-Path Detection, which can broadcast the alarm in case there are hazards present with the gear shifter set to reverse when travelling around 10 km/h (6 mph) or faster.
Next, radar and camera technology is also used to allow the Challenger to monitor the speed and position of traffic around you in BC while on the highway as part of the Adaptive Cruise Control System. This feature can automatically slow down and speed up when required to keep a safe distance between the vehicle and other drivers. Finally, if standard constant-velocity operation is desired, that option can be activated instead.
