When it comes to traffic in BC, “stop-and-go†is often the perfect phrase to describe it. Thankfully, the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee has Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) available to remove the accompanying frustration.
ACC works by employing a forward-facing camera and radar system to sense whether vehicles are directly ahead of you. If none are, it will maintain your set speed to let you focus on steering and navigation.
If there is traffic ahead of you, however, ACC can apply braking to slow the SUV down or accelerate to catch up – but don’t worry, it’ll never exceed your maximum velocity. Plus, you can choose from two settings for ultimate convenience; Adaptive mode maintains a safe distance automatically, while Normal (aka Fixed Speed) will cruise along at your desired pace – ideal for long drives on empty highways in BC.
