One of the biggest stressors when people first buy a large truck is parking. The average driver isn’t used to manoeuvring such a massive vehicle, and it can be intimidating in the beginning. However, every new 2021 Ram 3500 comes with the ParkView backup camera as a standard safety system. Some models are also equipped with Park-Sense, which is what this article covers.
Â
As a Front and Rear Park Assist System, this advanced aid includes front bumper- and dual-rear wheel-mounted sensors to detect obstacles. Sometimes, it is also paired with the 360-degree Surround View Camera and a digital rearview mirror that displays the live video feed. If not, then the image will be displayed on the Uconnect infotainment touchscreen interface.
Â
Activated when you shift into the Reverse position, it can be turned on or off by simply pressing the corresponding button located on the centre console. You can also adjust your preferences by selecting the Safety and Driving Assistance menu on the monitor.
Â
When an object is detected in your path, a tone will sound. This is a signal that you need to stop. Please remember to keep the sensors clean from dirt to ensure that they are always functioning normally.
