Many components make an air conditioning unit work smoothly. One of the most crucial - yet easiest to replace - is the A/C drain hose.
Durable and highly flexible, this tube allows you to change out the coolant regularly. Typically constructed out of EVA and PE, it is designed to be resistant to frost. Non-toxic, anti-aging properties are also part of this mechanism. Meanwhile, the end of the hose that connects to the air conditioner outlet is thicker. This prevents deformation over time. Another function of the drain hose is to release any buildup of condensation that is being trapped inside the evaporator.
If your hose isn’t quite ready to be switched out with a new one, you can simply clean it out to prowling its lifespan. You will need the following materials:
- Evaporator cleaner
- Drain pan
- Safety gear (glasses, gloves, etc)
- New cabin filters
First, you need to raise the vehicle so that you can crawl underneath. Next, attach the can of cleaning solution to the hose via the provided nozzle. Input about 1/2 of the contents of the can, and let it sit for five to ten minutes. Then, remove it and let the hose drain.
