Why Choose Naturopathic Medicine?

Licensed Naturopathic Doctors recieve a minimum of eight years of post-secondary schooling, four years in an undergraduate program followed by an additional four years of naturopathic medical training. NDs are trained as primary care providers who use functional medicine as the basis of practice. This is to say, that we listen, observe and analyze how the body is functioning in order to establish the root cause of the symptoms our patients seek our help with. Once a cause is identified, then a plan can be tailored for each patient in order to limit further disease progression, remove obsticals to cure, and support organ systems which need supporting. Our type of medicine focuses on increasing the quality of life and longevity of people, and encourages and educates people how to take a preventative approach to improving their health.

Naturopathic Medicine is founded upon six main principles:
1. First, do no harm
2. The Healing Power of Nature
3. Treat the Individual
4. Treat the Whole Person
5. Doctor as Teacher
6. Prevention
