Tourism has become a defining force of Costa Rica, generating a steady and strong economy. 2013 was no exception.
According to the Tico Times, Costa Rica experienced a 3.6% increase in tourists, welcoming 2.6 million individuals from across the globe. Arrivals from North America and Europe fueled this rise, contributing almost 40% of the overall total.
This number proves Costa Rica’s growing presence throughout the world. According to the National Tourism Board, the country has experienced tremendous growth within the last four years, attracting 15.6% more tourists than previous decades. This statistic is certain to expand in 2014.
Los Suenos is a center of sport fishing and family fun.
A recent tournament announcement, however, proves that its popularity will soon extend to fairway fans.
The Links and Laces event is coming to Los Suenos. This golf tournament, as reported by the Costa Rican Times, is world renowned, attracting professional and amateur sportsmen alike. It features two-man teams, all vying for prestigious titles and undeniable prizes.Â
The Los Suenos Marriott is an ideal location for this event. Its famed La Iguana course boasts almost 7,000 yards of lush lanes, sandy bunkers and cliffside holes. It’s a Par 72 stretch that can vex even the most experienced players, and the Links and Laces crowd will have to bring their best putters to win.
The Links and Laces tournament is scheduled from February 15 through February 17. Early registration is recommended to secure a spot, and golfers in need of accommodations and transportation should book those in advance as well.
