This week, the 2018 Nissan Kicks made its North American debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show and, not surprisingly, the response from automotive journalists and enthusiasts has been incredibly upbeat.

Industry watchers are hailing the all-new Kicks for its youthful, yet sophisticated appeal, as well as its slightly larger interior, which was lacking on the Nissan Juke – the subcompact SUV that the Kicks replaces. In fact, the Kicks more than doubles the cargo capacity from behind the rear seats from 11 cu-ft. in the Juke to 25.3 cu-ft.

But, despite its larger interior, the Kicks does feature less power under the hood. It comes standard with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, which produces 125 horsepower compared to the Juke’s 188 horses. There is an upside though and that’s excellent fuel efficiency. Nissan estimates that the 2018 Kicks will garner 33 mpg combined, which is sure to appease eco-conscious urbanites.

Inside, the interior features a clean, modern look with all trim levels featuring a 7-inch color infotainment system, three USB ports, automatic emergency braking and forward-collision warning. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility is also available, as well as a blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning and around-view monitor.

The all-new Kicks will go on sale in June 2018, so you’ll need to be patient as you await your next test drive. To learn more, contact us at Kirkland Nissan in Seattle, Washington.
