First, this suite brings a heavy-duty suspension into the mix that can help soak up the impact of rough terrain. Meanwhile, the electronic locking rear axle allows both back wheels to rotate at the same time. This ensures proper grip on slick or jagged surfaces. Also assisting with maintaining the appropriate amount of traction is the hill-descent control mechanism. You will be able to easily glide down a steep slope without faltering.
 

To guard against damage to the underbelly, skid plates have been installed. These act as shields to the transmission, steering, transfer case, fuel tank, and other more delicate components. You will also notice the tow hooks on the face of the Ram 1500, which can be used to move felled trees out of your path or to pull your friend’s less capable truck out of the mud.
