Are you excited to participate in this year’s Track Day Event for the first time? The team at Skaha Ford is thrilled to share some beginner tips for having a fun (and safe) day this coming June.
If you have been following along with this series of articles, then you are ready for step 3 of preparations for the big day. Most seasoned drivers recommend bringing along a few tools to ensure that you can make changes or adjustments to your car quickly and efficiently. A comprehensive kit for the racetrack can include the following items:
Tire pressure gauge
Jack
Wheel gun/brace
Wheel socket
Adjustable spanners (or a set)
Cable ties
Most of these things are self-explanatory. However, the cable ties can be used to secure a loose hose or anything that might drop/hang down.
Once you get started on the track, you should remember to pace yourself and take frequent breaks. It will be an exhilarating experience, and you don’t want to burn out too quickly. Finally, don’t go too fast. Remember that this isn’t a race. Always maintain a speed that you are comfortable with as a novice.
