It’s no secret that our province’s weather changes from day-to-day and, in turn, so do driving conditions. Whether you’re navigating through a blizzard or traversing a slick dirt road, the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee has the technology to keep you in control.
This SUV is fitted with Selec-Terrain Management, which monitors a dozen vehicle systems at once: including throttle and traction control. Using a dial located next to the gear shift, you can choose from Auto, Snow, Sand, and Mud modes (Rock mode available exclusively on Trailhawk.)
Using the Selec-Terrain isn’t rocket science. When it doubt select Auto mode. It keeps things simple by adjusting vehicle dynamics without further instruction. The Snow setting is the obvious choice when the roads are icy or unplowed, which is not uncommon during a British Colombia winter. It minimises oversteering and optimises the Jeep's stability. It also automatically engages traction control and anti-lock brakes.

When driving near the beach or over loose stones, Sand mode uses throttle and upshift points to optimise manoeuvrability. Country roads can get pretty slick after a storm. That's where the Mud setting comes in. It calibrates transmission ratios, differentials, and chassis controls to allow extra wheel-slip.
