January is still proving fruitful, however, during its final days and Costa Rica Fishing Adventures is happy to report the latest Central Pacific hauls.

During the week of January 19 to January 26, charter crews noted a rise in Sailfish and Dorados. High numbers from ships like the Wett Ryder and the Hatta Dreams helped to shatter previous records for the month, and a staggering 1,421 billfish were reported on January 24 alone.

This number couples with rare sightings of Triple Tails for a truly exceptional week.

As January inches toward its end more and more fish arrive to the Central Pacific. Charter crews are reporting strong hauls throughout Los Suenos, and anglers wanting to test their skills will find many breeds to chase.

From January 8 to January 15 there was a surge of Mahi-Mahis and Jack Crevalles in Los Suenos. Many crews noted the arrival of Roosterfish and Striped Marlins as well, creating ideal sport fishing conditions.

A noticeable lack of Dorados proved worrisome early in the week, but these fish have begun to appear once more. They should resume their normal migration patterns soon.
