Nissan Features Glossary For Seattle, Tacoma, And Bellevue Washington
2018 nissan titan for sale renton washingtonThe Nissan Titan was one of only two full-sized pickup trucks to receive a “good” rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) when they conducted their latest tests on four-door pickups.

While the safety cages that are standard features on most cars and trucks do a great job in front-end collisions involving at least 40 percent of the front of the vehicle, when a smaller percentage of the front end is involved (25 percent), there have been issues, particularly with passenger-side collisions. The IIHS testing focused on passenger-side stats. These small overlap crashes involve just the front corner of the vehicle. IIHS has been rating driver-side front overlap collisions since 2012, but only began testing similar passenger-side fender-benders in 2017 to ensure equal protection for both sides.

There are four IIHS ratings: good, acceptable, marginal and poor.

"We commend Ford, Nissan and Ram for providing state-of-the-art crash protection for both drivers and front passengers of their large pickup models," says David Zuby, IIHS chief research officer.

Front-end collisions, especially if they involve fixed barriers like trees or hydro poles, tend to be more serious in pickups because of the weight of the vehicles.

Kirkland- and Seattle-area residents, if you’re in need of an almost absurdly capable truck, Nissan has exactly what you desire—the 2019 Titan. This pick-up is sensationally powerful and comes with a system that helps to ensure your safety prior to rumbling down the road with a trailer in tow. Let’s take a closer look at each aspect!

This machine is packed with an exceptional 5.6L V8 engine. It kicks out 390 horses and 394 lb.-ft. of torque at the drop of a hat, easily launching you down the road and enabling a standard towing capacity of upwards of 9,200 pounds. Also, a quick note: Despite all this brawn, the motor still easily manages an average highway MPG of 21.

The 2019 Titan also comes with a Remote Trailer Light Check system that offers a safety test before you begin your journey. Simply use your Nissan Intelligent Key to cycle through your lights to check for their operation. And if you have the Advanced Drive-Assist Display, you can perform this process from within your cabin.
