Happy Tuesday, Tacoma and Kirkland! In our previous post, we detailed forward collision warning in the 2019 Armada. It uses a sensor to detect the movement and traveling speed of the car(s) in front of you and beeps out a warning if you get too close. However, this fine Nissan model also comes with numerous other safety features that warrant discussion, so we wanted to return to the subject below.

This SUV is packed with intelligent cruise control. Like withÂ forward collision warning, this system uses sensors to take traditional cruise control to the next level. If the car in front of you slows down, the technology uses â€œgap managementâ€ to keep a set distance between you and that vehicle by autonomously dropping or raising your cruising speed to match it. And even if you donâ€™t have this feature activated, if things get hairy and you get too close, automatic emergency braking takes over and helps you avoid a collision.

The 2019 Nissan Armada also comes with rear door alert. Itâ€™s easy to place something in the back seat, get started on your journey, and then forget about it upon your arrival. Welcome back to our features glossary section, Kirkland and Seattle residents! Today, we wish to break down the technology behind forward collision warning and blind-spot monitoring on the 2019 Nissan Armada SL.

Forward collision warning senses the movement of both the car directly in front of your own and the vehicle in front of that one. It elicits an alert if they abruptly slow down, helping you avoid a collision. This system works thanks to a sensor mounted on the fore of the auto that measures velocity and distance. Impressive stuff!â€¨â€¨

As mentioned, the 2019 Nissan Armada SL also comes with blind-spot monitoring. Contrary toÂ forward collision warning, it senses when another car is approaching diagonally from behind. If this occurs, it signals to you via indicators either on the a-pillar or the side-view exterior mirrors. Offering strength, comfort, and plenty of space, the Nissan Armada has been a fan favorite for a while. Thatâ€™s why the Japanese automaker has been focusing on updating this modelâ€™s internal systems to create a safer driving experience for you and your loved ones.

Fuel economy is set at 16 mpg combined (14 city/19 highway), which is to be expected for a vehicle with such gusto.
