The 2019 Nissan LEAFâ€™s e-Pedal is a system that enables the use of driving with only one pedal as opposed to relying on two (the standard accelerator and brake pedals). This optional method of control lets you press down on the e-Pedal to gradually accelerate; conversely, if you release theÂ pressure youâ€™ll slow the car down. If you completely remove your foot from the e-Pedal, the regenerative brakes will fully kick in and the resulting friction will cause a complete stop.

With the LEAF's e-Pedal, the brake lights flick on every time you begin to release pressure, just as youâ€™d expect. Itâ€™s possible to parallel park using only this one-pedal system; further, the e-Pedal is capable of stopping the car on an incline, too.
