buy a new nissan 370z near seattle washingtonThe 370Z roadster is fast. We all know this. What you may not have known, however, is how intuitive, stylish, and functional the inside happens to be. It’s elementary, really: with every great car comes an interior to match. But don’t take our word for it; we’ll let the features speak for themselves.

First is the information layer. This car’s infotainment system truly lives up to its namesake, with smartphone integration, rearview monitor, and SiriusXM traffic feature that delivers real-time advisories as you drive. As for the entertainment side of things, the 370z's bluetooth handsfree and Bose surround-sound help give any ride the perfect soundtrack.

The operation layer features a low armrest to better facilitate changing gears, as well as a “kidney-shaped” steering wheel rim that’s ergonomically designed to be the perfect fit for your soon-to-be white knuckles. Clutch, shift lever, and vehicle speed are constantly monitored and altered with SynchroRev Technology to provide you with seamless speed. If you’re the old fashioned type, just switch it off at the touch of a button.

Finally comes the holding layer. With kneepads on the center console, curved seats with anti-slip material on the cushions, and adjustable lumbar support, this car is clearly designed for comfort and speed.

buy a new nissan kicks in seattle washingtonIt’s sad but it’s true: the Juke is no more. But, dear readers, calm your beating hearts and unclench your tightened fists; there is a silver lining to this tragedy. Here in its place is the brand new, 2018 Nissan Kicks. Trust us when we say: one drive in this vehicle and you’ll have forgotten all about the… What was it called again?

The look of the new Kicks takes after the Juke in a way that’s more quintessentially Nissan; the angular floating roof, hard-edged yet elegant front, and sleek teardrop silhouette make this crossover an automatic head-turner. And with the 'Color Studio' customization program comes the ability to personalize even further, from two-tone accents on top all the way down to the mirror caps and door handles.

Utilizing the most recent advancements in intelligent driving tech, the new Kicks is able to navigate the road —almost— as well as you can.
Its Around View system delivers 360-degrees of high-definition monitoring, while rear cross traffic alerts pair with blindspot warnings to negate collisions. Automatic emergency braking ensures further protection, engaging whenever sudden obstacles appear.

Miniature Nissan Car Wash Ensures Better Paint Options for Seattle Residents

Ever wonder what a car wash the size of a popcorn machine can manage to accomplish? Well, now’s your chance to get that unlikely question answered. Nissan’s Technical Center North America, located in Michigan, has recently been making great use of this tiny contraption to test exterior paint samples.

This is no joke. The miniature car wash enables Nissan to see how new paints for the 370Z and similar vehicles stand up to the elements. Engineers are able to make use of tiny brushes that spin at 180 revolutions per minute (RPM) to throw dirt and water jets at diminutive test samples to replicate the abrasiveness of real-world conditions.

Just how tiny are the miniature cars themselves? In the video above, you’re looking at a 370Z that is at a 1:16 scale. However, note that this is for fun, illustrative purposes only. In actual testing, the paint is instead applied to small rectangular plates that are then put through the wash. Repeated assessments help Nissan to determine which finishes are the most durable.

If you're in the market for a 370Z, there is an array of incredible exterior paint finishes to choose from. These include Brilliant Silver, Chicane Yellow, Gun Metallic, Deep Blue Pearl, Passion Red, Magnetic Black, Pearl White, and Solid Red.

In the mood for a fun 3D experience? Actually, a better question: down for a Star Wars interactive web extravaganza? Yup—we thought so! And that’s exactly what Nissan has delivered with their “Command Your Craft” offering.

Available on NissanUSA.com/StarWars, the experience is entirely gesture-based and lets players take control of The Last Jedi-inspired vehicles crafted directly by the Japanese manufacturer. Want to fight the bad guys? Represent as Poe Dameron and hop into a BB-8-loaded X-wing (the 2018 Rogue). Feeling a little mischievous, and, well, “evil” today? Embrace the Dark Side as Kylo Ren in his TIE Silencer (2018 Maxima). You can use your hands to raise, rotate, and summon on-screen cars.

The breakthrough Star Wars 3D experience utilizes Google’s TensorFlow. The software library is open-source and wields machine learning to recognize and categorize images. It’s cutting-edge, just in time for The Last Jedi, and perfect to use for representing cars like the 2018 Maxima. That vehicle offers suitably futuristic performance, providing 50-to-70 mph passing power in a class-leading 3.8 seconds (wow)! And when you need to make a quick stop, you can go from that top speed down to a standstill in only 178 feet.

While many of us look to Nissan for our automotive needs—roomy crossovers such as the Pathfinder and all-electric wonders such as the LEAF—occasionally, the Japanese automaker can touch lives in far more integral ways. This can be evidenced most recently in their work in South Africa, as the company helped deliver a new water system to a secondary school.

The backstory: Several months ago, Nissan received a special request from the Bahlaloga Secondary School in Lonsdale, Limpopo, South Africa. They needed a new water tank—a truly functional setup. The Japanese manufacturer wasted little time in conducting an analysis and snapping into action, replacing the old borehole system and introducing the fresh alternative to the community.

The new water system was recently unveiled to the gathered local leaders, teachers, and students at Bahlologa. While previously only one tap at the school was working, there are now four working at full capacity. This marks a monumental improvement, as hundreds rely on the setup for their needs each day.

If you’re interested in hearing more about the automaker’s involvement in the community—or regarding their commitment to the environment with the LEAF—don’t hesitate to call us at Kirkland Nissan in Seattle!

Seattle, take notice! The 2018 Nissan Altima is an absolutely stellar sedan and it’s now available at our dealership! The car is a fantastic choice whether you’re single or growing a family, and a big part of this across-the-board desirability is its engine options.

Performance is greatly valued by the designers behind the 2018 Altima. Nissan decided to give customers choice. For those that are adhering to a budget and also want to enjoy sublime fuel efficiency, the 2.5L four-cylinder motor is an attractive proposition. It delivers 179 horses and 177-lb.-ft. of torque. And as mentioned, you won’t suffer from “pinch at the pump.” The EPA estimates you’ll benefit from an average of 38 highway MPG / 27 city.

However, if you’re someone that’s a bit more speed inclined, Nissan comes through in the clutch. There’s also a powerful 3.5L V6 available for the 2018 Altima. It cranks out 270 horses and 251-lb.-ft. of torque. Fantastic! Average mileage remains plentiful at 32 highway / 22 city.

This week, Nissan fully removed the shroud from its upcoming VC-Turbo engine, the world’s first production-ready variable compression ratio motor. Although the power plant is set to first appear on the INFINITI QX50, the Japanese automaker aims to bring the sophisticated technology to other lines, perhaps including the Pathfinder, Murano, and more.

The VC-Turbo is unique from conventional machines such as the Rogue in that it blends the efficiency of diesel engines with the performance of turbocharged gasoline motors. This is achieved through an advanced multi-link operation that alters the compression ratio seamlessly, lowering and raising piston reach constantly.

Nissan’s new engine flies in the face of conventional wisdom that only diesels and hybrids can produce both efficiency and high torque. The VC-Turbo provides 268 HP @ 5,600 RPM and 280-lb.-ft. @ 4,400 rpm. Gas mileage is fantastic, too—in the QX50, the motor is set to offer a combined MPG of 27, which marks a 35-percent improvement over the outgoing setup on the same vehicle. It seems clear that it's set to shake up the automotive world.

Nissan has announced a partnership with TEPCO to begin a virtual power plant study. The project will first take place in Japan, although the company hopes to bring the initiative worldwide in the future.

TEPCO employees will utilize the e-NV200 electrical commercial van for the project, while Nissan’s own staff will turn to the zero-emissions LEAF. Starting this past week and running until the end of January, participants will be instructed to only charge their EVs when demand on the local power grid is low. The study will then assess how closely each individual alters their routine when they choose to “juice up” their cars.

The project will utilize existing infrastructure and leverage Nissan’s telematics system, a service that caters to LEAF and EV owners by enabling the remote monitoring of their vehicles via a smartphone app. The hypothesis is that power demand fluctuations on the grid will be mitigated if participants adhere to the charging instructions. All data collected will help to ascertain the most efficient electric car usage, with the intent to eventually create virtual plants worldwide as part of a smart-energy society.

As a reminder, the 2018 LEAF is poised to advance all-electric design when it releases in North America later this year. The new 40-kilowatt lithium-ion battery provides 150 miles of driving range, and the motor generates 147 HP and 236-lb.-ft. of torque.

There’s no denying the fact that the Rogue Sport is a leader on the sales charts and on the road. Young urban buyers especially hold this CUV near and dear for its slightly smaller frame, noticeably sportier look and more affordable price tag, when compared to its older sibling the Rogue.

And now, the Rogue Sport has more hardware to hang in its awards cabinet. It was recently named a “2018 Best Buy” by Consumer Guide Automotive in the Compact Crossover and Subcompact Crossover categories.

The Rogue Sport was in good company alongside the Rogue, which was recognized for its respectable fuel economy and refined interior materials. The Sport, however, was given top marks for its subcompact sizing, but with just the right amount of passenger and cargo room. The editors at Consumer Guide Automotive also loved the smooth handling and maneuverability of the 2018 Rogue Sport, especially in cramped urban areas where you’ll often find this vehicle.

Like any good sibling, the Rogue Sport takes on all the winning traits of its older sibling, but with a whole new twist that makes this vehicle all its own. See for yourself in this video review:
