Latest Nissan News For Seattle, Tacoma, And Bellevue Washington
The New Year is upon us and so is the highly-anticipated Tokyo Auto Salon, which is taking place on January 12-14, 2018, at the Makuhari Messe International Convention Complex in Japan.

Nissan will be in attendance where they will reveal a new variant of the popular Leaf all-electric vehicle, called the Grand Touring Concept.

Industry insiders report that the EV will feature two-tone black-and-silver paintwork and an aggressive body kit, but other details have yet to be disclosed. Some speculators think that the Grand Touring Concept will be equipped with the latest aftermarket parts offered through Autech Japan, a Nissan sub-brand with a focus on vehicle tuning, but full mechanical and performance specs have yet to be revealed.

With all of the rumors floating around, anticipation is certainly building. EV fanatics across the globe are excited to get a glimpse at the Leaf’s Grand Touring Concept, including our staff at Kirkland Nissan in Seattle, Washington.

Great news, Seattle EV enthusiasts! On Monday, Nissan announced that the 2018 Leaf will be arriving at North American dealerships in January.

The second-generation Leaf is currently in production at Nissan’s expansive assembly plant in Smyrna, Tennessee – one of three locations globally that will build the vehicle, along with the Oppama plant in Yokosuka, Japan, and a factory in Sunderland, England. The Smyrna facility currently produces five other models, including the Nissan Altima, Maxima, Pathfinder and Rogue, as well as the Infiniti QX60.

The Nissan Leaf has been in production at the Smyrna assembly plant since 2013, with more than 114,550 vehicles sold in the United States since 2011. The team couldn’t be more excited to see 2018 model roll off their production line. Watch them beam with pride in this video:

For 2018, the Leaf will incorporate new technology that will make this second-generation vehicle drive farther, better and smarter than ever before. It features available ProPILOT Assist technology, which helps motorists navigate stop-and-go traffic by assisting control of acceleration, braking and steering during single-lane highway driving. The 2018 Leaf also offers an increased range (up to 150 miles) and incorporates standard Nissan Intelligent Mobility features, such as Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and e-Pedal technology.

With a starting price of $29,9901, the all-new Leaf is sure to be a hit with Seattle area EV aficionados. To pre-book your test drive, contact us at Kirkland Nissan today.
