Latest Nissan News For Seattle, Tacoma, And Bellevue Washington
Just as Nissan Pathfinder owners embrace adventure with every move, the SUV isn't showing signs of slowing down either. After a major redesign last year that upped the Pathfinder's style, powerplant and driver assist quotients, Nissan has added even more potency to the platform with the launch of standard Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB).

Now available on all 2018 Pathfinder trims equipped with Xtronic transmission, this safety technology uses radar to monitor the SUV's proximity to traffic up ahead. If it detects a potential frontal collision, it provides an audible and visual warning, thus notifying the driver to slow down. If the driver fails to respond, the AEB system can apply the brakes, helping to avoid the accident or reduce the speed of impact, if unavoidable.

In addition to AEB, the Pathfinder also comes equipped with standard safety and security features, including Nissan's Advanced Air Bag System (AABS). This provides drivers and passengers with a host of air bags and rollover sensors for extra front, side and head protection in the event of a crash. The SUV is also engineered with Zone Body construction, which absorbs impact energy, thus protecting the vehicle's occupants in an accident.

It's the unthinkable; the unimaginable - forgetting your baby in the back seat of the car on a hot summer's day. In your heart-of-hearts, you know you would never intentionally leave your child in such danger, but accidents can happen - all it takes is a moment of forgetfulness.

But, not if you drive a 2018 Nissan Pathfinder. New for this model year, all SUVs are equipped with a standard Rear Door Alert System, which reminds drivers to check the back seat of their vehicle by using a series of distinctive honks as they walk away.

This smart technology was created by two Nissan staffers - Elsa Foley, an industrial engineer and mother of two young children, and Marlene Mendoza, a mechanical engineer and mother of three. "The Rear Door Alert uses a similar honking cue that has been proven successful with Nissan's Easy Fill Tire Alert," said Foley in a press release. "By drawing your attention back to the vehicle, once you've walked away, you are more likely to recheck the back seat than with a visual alert alone."
