Latest Nissan News For Seattle, Tacoma, And Bellevue Washington
As it turns out, the sedan segment is hotter than ever before.

Recent survey results suggest that four-door cars are as beloved as ever, particularly among American millennials. The latest figures, as commissioned by Nissan, suggest that 78% of those individuals in the aforementioned age range that
do not own a sedan would consider buying one.

The time couldn’t be better for such a purchase. The sixth-generation Altima is now available, supplying powerful ProPILOT Assist technology. It now offers lower and wider proportions than previously seen, creating a more athletic stance. Also, Nissan’s latest sedan effort—the brand-new Versa—offers a fresh design that looks amazing and pushes the sub-compact segment forward.

"We see great opportunity in the sedan segment, which is why we're continuing to launch all-new and refreshed products," said Rob Warren, director and chief marketing manager at Nissan North America. "Sedans are still extremely popular with our customers, so as our competitors exit the category, they're creating even more prospects for Nissan."

The Altima is exceptional… and we’re not the only ones saying it! The 2019 iteration of Nissan’s machine has been selected as one of Autotrader’s “12 Best New Cars.”

Autotrader is impressed by many aspects of the 2019 Altima, although three particularly stand out. The car supplies all-wheel drive with wondrous traction, as well as an upscale interior that the editors said felt like it belonged in a much more expensive car. Further, there’s the VC-Turbo variable compression engine. It offers superior power or enhanced efficiency depending on what the moment requires—and is the first production engine of its kind.

Autotrader said the following: “Every car on this list is completely redesigned or an all-new model for this year. They all bring something fresh and innovative compared to their competitors and all have some combination of impressive tech, surprisingly good driving dynamics, strong value or just getting the details exactly right.”

Keep in mind that the 2019 Altima is available now for only $24,000 and comes packed with Automatic Emergency Braking, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and more.

There’s some serious tech packed into the 2019 Nissan Altima. Take, for instance, its engine. The 2.5-liter unit is something special in that it benefits from a special manufacturing process that usually only finds its way into the engines of supercars.

The engine block of the 2019 Nissan Altima benefits from a cutting-edge mirror bore process that serves to enhance efficiency and reduce friction. Overall, the elimination of bulky cylinder liners allows the motor to operate more smoothly. The treatment was first used in the Nissan GT-R and now, thanks to the Decherd assembly line, it’s made its way to the Altima. As a result, it’s now the highest volume application of the tech at Nissan—Decherd’s team assembles a motor every 19 seconds and can pump out as many as 1.4 million units a year.

"Advanced technology like the mirror bore process only makes sense for Nissan if we can offer it to as many customers as possible," said Jay Boyte, director of engineering at Decherd Powertrain Plant, Nissan North America. "The end result is an innovative and efficient engine made with manufacturing technology usually not available at this volume or price point," added Boyte.

Ready to experience excellence? Then don’t hesitate to hop into the Nissan Altima. Autotrader just named it one of the “12 Best New Cars for 2019.”

This year’s Altima was a wonderful choice by Autotrader (if we may say so). The publication explains that they were impressed by the upscale interior, which gave the feeling that they were driving a more expensive car. Also notable was the traction offered by all-wheel drive, as well as the VC-Turbo variable compression engine. The first production engine of its kind, it intelligently provides more power on demand or scales back and improves efficiency when you move to
cruising speeds.

The Autotrader editors had this to say: “Every car on this list is completely redesigned or an all-new model for this year. They all bring something fresh and innovative compared to their competitors and all have some combination of impressive tech, surprisingly good driving dynamics, strong value or just getting the details exactly right.”

Bear in mind that the standard 2019 Altima—starting at just $24,000—comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as an eight-inch color display. Further, an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat makes it easy to slide into the optimal driving position, and features such as Automatic Emergency Braking and Intelligent Forward Collision Warning keep you safe.

Following the release of the 2019 Altima, Nissan launched a “cool” new marketing initiative to celebrate the sedan’s available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive. Set inside a 40-foot snow globe, a chilly storm raged on, complete with a dynamic physical cityscape and an accompanying multi-sensory indoor winter experience to bring the story to life.

Visitors were able to enter the globe and see the all-new 2019 Nissan Altima in all its winter glory. Falling from the sky was actual snow, creating a magical scene perfect for photo ops, which were shared on social media using the hashtag #ImpossiblySmart. The virtual weather conditions also highlighted the sedan’s available I-AWD technology, which allows the Altima to adapt and redistribute power regardless of road conditions.

The 2019 Nissan Altima is available in five well-equipped trims (S, SR, SV, SL and Platinum) with a standard 2.5-liter DOHC inline four-cylinder direct injection engine for 188 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. An optional 2.0-liter VC-Turbo engine with front-wheel drive is also available on Altima SR and Platinum grades. With the addition of all-wheel drive, sedan shoppers can finally benefit from the enhanced capability and handling that this new offering provides.
