2019 nissan leaf best price seattle tacoma washingtonIf you’ve been following news about the 2019 Leaf all-electric vehicle, you may remember hearing speculation earlier this year about the plug-in receiving a larger battery and range at some point in the near future. The Drive recently published an article about this topic this week and according to their sources, a German publication has reportedly attained the new larger battery’s specifications.

At the moment, the 2019 Leaf is equipped with a 40-kWh battery for a range of 150 miles. Based on The Drive’s research, this is on the shorter side when it comes to all-electric range distances, but not for long. According to the German site, Electrive, a Leaf E-Plus is expected for 2019 and will include a 60-kWh battery for a total range of approximately 220 miles. Charging times should be comparable with the current model too.

The enhanced powertrain is reportedly a $6,580 USD premium over the base 40-kWh Leaf, bring the total cost of the vehicle to around $36,500 USD.

More details about the Leaf E-Plus are expected to be announced at the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January. Be sure to check back to our blog in the New Year, as our team at Kirkland Nissan in Seattle is paying close attention to this developing story.
