Whether you want to save money by buying a base model or you want to get the top-of-the-line trim, the new 2021 Jeep Cherokee is equipped with some amazing sensor-based systems that are designed to help prevent accidents.
Â
First up is Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist. This combo is known as LaneSense, and it will help keep you driving on the straight and narrow. Monitoring the lines on the road, it will detect if you begin to drift off to the side. If no turn signal is activated, the feature will alert you to correct your path. If no input is given by you, it may also make minor steering adjustments to re-centre the Cherokee.
Â
Next is Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking. Front-mounted radar will notify you of any upcoming obstacles directly ahead. If you get too close to the obstruction, it can take control of the brakes to bring the SUV to a complete halt.
Â
Finally, the Park-Sense Rear Park Assist component is standard on the Limited and Trailhawk models. It is also available on the North and Altitude trims. Four sensors have been positioned on the rear fascia near the ParkView backup camera. An audible chime will sound if you get too near to any object behind you.
