Since the 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is a plug-in hybrid, you might be wondering if it is as strong as its gasoline-powered siblings. The answer to that is an emphatic yes!
Â
Housing a turbocharged 2.0-litre PHEV engine that is paired with a 400-volt 17kWh lithium-ion battery pack, all of these models push out 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to the 8-speed automatic transmission and full-time 4x4 drivetrain, this ride can do anything a conventional Wrangler can do. It can even tow up to 1,588 kgs (3,500 lbs) which is unheard of for this class.
Â
To replenish the energy stores, all you have to do is hook the Wrangler 4xe up with a Level I (120-volt) or II (240-volt) charging cord. You can also activate eSave Mode to reduce the amount of energy you use. This is ideal for waiting out rush hour traffic.

Although the new 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is a plug-in hybrid SUV, this eco-friendly ride knows no boundaries. You can still take it on your next adventure into the wild and enjoy every second out in nature.
Â
As a Trail Rated model, the Wrangler 4xe is only offered in the Unlimited (four-door) body style. This gives you more space to bring along friends and gear. Plus it also hides the battery pack well without taking away any storage room.
Â
Thanks to the Rock-Trac full-time 4x4 drivetrain and its 4:1 low-range gear ratio, you can take this beast over just about any terrain. Jagged formations, mud, rivers, and even sand don’t stand a chance! There isn’t another vehicle on the market that can compare to the capability of the Wrangler 4xe.
