We are delighted to announce that Sean Burke has joined the Silver Maple team as of April 1 in the position of Chief Financial Officer.

For the five prior years, Sean was working at Pricewaterhousecoopers (PwC). He was relocated to work in New York for a year and half where he advised the world’s largest banks in the banking and capital markets sector. He was named the 2013 CA Most Exemplary Young Professional, an award given to one CA in Western Canada. In 2012 he was awarded the PwC National CEO award, the highest honour for PwC Canada employees.

This is a major milestone for the company and reconfirms its position as a front runner in the digital funding and investment space in Canada.

Silver Maple plans to launch its platform in May 2015.

Silver Maple closes previously announced strategic partnership with 360 Capital

On August 29th, Silver Maple Ventures Inc. and 360 Capital Financial Services Group Inc. closed the previously announced strategic partnership between both companies together with an initial investment by 360 Capital in Silver Maple.

360 Capital is in the business of developing, growing and operating insurance and financial services businesses and distribution in Canada and Asia Pacific. 360 Capital is listed on the Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE). Ticker symbol: TSZ.

360 Capital’s team, financial services capabilities and international business network will greatly support Silver Maple in building its online venture funding and investment business across Canada and internationally.

This partnership enables us to provide funding and financial services solutions to start-ups and growth ventures throughout their different development stages.

Silver Maple Ventures Inc. registered as Exempt Market Dealer in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario
 
On April 30th, 2014 the British Columbia Securities Commission (BCSC) approved Silver Maple Ventures Inc. as Exempt Market Dealer in BC. 

On June 19th 2014 the company obtained registration in Alberta and Ontario under the Passport System.

This is an important milestone for Silver Maple in developing its funding and investment services connecting startups and young ventures with the wider investor community.
