Latest Ford News In Penticton BC
The all-new generation of F-150s are special, sure. But this time around, things get “extra special” with the addition of the sensational, electrifying (literally) Hybrid model. It’s going to make you reevaluate how you think of trucks forever.

There are many things to wax poetic about regarding the 2021 F-150 Hybrid, but it’s the powertrain which is so immensely impressive and that takes precedence over all others. The twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine is the first-ever gas-electric powertrain in the entire history of the F-150 series. It utilizes a 1.5-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery matched to a   35-kilowatt electric motor to produce ample power—enough, in fact, to create a 12,000-pound towing ability. There’s also a limited all-electric range available; the overall range impresses at 700 miles/1125 km on a full tank.

The electric power and massive towing ability aren’t this truck’s only tricks. There’s an available interior work surface for when you’re out of office but need to get something done; it’s great for your laptop and assorted gear.

“Get more out of your truck!” That’s a slogan you often hear repeated in certain circles, but the reality is, it’s a goal that’s not often realized by many manufacturers. Ford, however, is ready to buck that trend with the new 2021 F-150.

There’s so much on offer with this all-new generation of F-150s that we’re forced to only hit the highlights—but oh, what highlights they are. SYNC 4 is standard, bringing with it even more technological prowess over the outgoing SYNC 3 software. Now, drivers will enjoy cloud-based connectivity, voice recognition, and even a digital owner’s manual with streamable how-to videos and a breakout of vehicle health and diagnostics. Further, SYNC 4 will become even better over time thanks to over-the-air updates.

That’s not all, though. The 2021 F-150 offers available zone lighting on the exterior for superior illumination surrounding the vehicle at night, promoting safety and ease of access. Additionally, available max recline seats fold almost entirely flat for when you need a snooze after a long day on the job site.

Sometimes, it’s not enough to build a good truck—just ask Ford. After all, the Big Blue Oval brand has never believed that “good” is good enough, and this time around with the F-150, they’ve endeavored to craft a machine that’s thoroughly ahead of its time. Fortunately, they’ve succeeded.

The 2021 F-150 Hybrid pulls upon everything Ford’s learned over generations in order to be the best truck it can be. Smart features include an interior work surface designed expressly for getting the job done, enabling you to set up your laptop and other tech gear when you want to get down to business. There’s also available rear-locking under-seat storage to store your stuff when it’s not in use. Plus, when work is complete, the available max recline seats certainly come in handy for a snooze.

Of course, the 2021 F-150 Hybrid is true to its name. It is packed with a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine that’s paired with a 1.5-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery and a 35-kilowatt electric motor. The result? An overall range of 700 miles/1125 km on a full tank of gas.

Onboard generator, anyone?

That’s right. Ford’s thought outside the box to put a generator inside the all-new 2021 F-150. The Big Blue Oval has really outdone themselves here! The truck’s Pro Power Onboard generator system’s base arrangement supplies an impressive 2.0 kW of electrical capacity—this configuration is exclusive on gas-only F-150s. That 2.0 kW alone can power items such as a TV, mini-fridge, speakers, electric heater, and more, all at the same time. And the Hybrid models come standard with an increased 2.4-kW capacity that can do even more.

Even more power is available, however. The hybrid F-150 offers an available upgrade to a 7.2 kW Pro Power Onboard unit. This configuration supplies one 240-volt outlet and four 120-volt plugs that can juice up an air compressor, plasma cutter, chop saw, TiG welder, and more, all at once!
