When you’re browsing a list of car specifications, there can be a lot of auto terms with which you’re unfamiliar. Not knowing how a technology works or whether an amenity is one you need makes it hard to decide if a certain vehicle is worth it.
We’re here to shed light on some of these less-explained specs. For instance, splash guards are often listed as an upgrade or included feature. What does their presence mean for your automobile?
Splash guards are similar to mud flaps in that they keep your vehicle safe from unwanted road spray. The highway can kick up everything from snow to dirt to small stones, so this is an important addition. This amenity protects your car’s undercarriage and its paint job from scratches and soiling. In addition, salts used to keep the road dry during the winter months can eat away at automobile exteriors over time.
The 2018 Nissan Sentra S includes splash guards to prevent soiling, scratches, or decay. It’s a fantastic choice if you want a car that will be in it for the long haul. Stop by your Kirkland Nissan dealer near Renton, Washington, today and request a test drive! You’re sure to love it!

For some people, driving a car is a euphoric experience. Those who love older models tend to enjoy every aspect of the vehicle. That’s why the new 2018 Nissan Sentra SR Turbo features a unique characteristic that other sedans don’t have.
This athletic five-seater is equipped with a continuously variable transmission with manual shift mode. Simply push the knob into the Ds position, and you will be able to change gears by moving it up or down. This puts the power into your hands. To get back to automatic, put the selector in Drive (D).
One critical fact to keep in mind is that when the fluid temperature is extremely low, the driving mode is limited to CVT only. It should warm up relatively quickly with the turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine under the hood. Generating 188 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque, the Sentra gets about 30 mpg combined (27 city/33 highway).
The SR Turbo trim level also includes sport-tuned suspension, upgraded front brakes, and recalibrated steering. These features all contribute to the robust enthusiasm this spry vehicle has on the streets.
