Auto Advice For Calgary Consumers

It’s no surprise, therefore, that its frame proves rugged. Approach this pick-up and discover up to 242 inches in length, 88 inches in width, and 81 inches in height: with its standard 18-inch wheels resting on beefy all-season tires and its suspension bolstered by heavy-duty shock absorbers. This is no meagre compact. It’s built to impress.

The inclusion of power side steps, however, ensures that it’s also made for convenience. To help Alberta drivers easily scale the 1500’s wide frame, Ram has paired it with automated technology. Let’s see how this works.

Available on the new 1500 are power side steps. These functions seamlessly deploy when a driver approaches the truck - with integrated sensors automatically noting when the key fob has been activated, the doors have been opened, or the parking brake has been engaged. They allow riders to easily slide into the cabin; and, when they are no longer needed, they will neatly tuck beneath the mounted rocker panels.

This not only maintains the athletic look of the 1500, but it also ensures improved aerodynamics. By only deploying the power side steps as needed, Ram lessens overall friction and reduces drag - which results in a more efficient highway experience.

This suite promises potent strength (8,100 pounds of trailering) and high-speed capabilities (0 to 60 MPH in a mere 4.5 seconds). It also, however, produces a mighty noise; and this can undermine the highway experience.

To ensure that Alberta drivers won’t hear every rev of the 1500’s V8 engine, Ram has fused it with exclusive noise dampening technology. How does this work? Let’s examine the system!

At the front of the new 1500 is a windshield made from acoustic safety glass - which helps to lessen overall vibrations and limit exposure. A sculpted hood further reduces ambient elements by sluicing away air currents; and, inside, an Active Noise Cancellation system maintains an ideal atmosphere by utilizing strategically placed microphones. These tools broadcast competitive sound waves, helping to counter any unwanted distractions (such as an engine rumble); and they allow riders to experience a more pleasant cabin.

By employing these technologies the new Ram 1500 can effortlessly counter exterior noise and enable drivers to focus on V8 fun.
