You love the INFINITI brand because it represents the best in luxury and its vehicles have a number of excellent features to make your experience behind the wheel even better. Sometimes, it can be a challenge to understand complicated auto terminology, however. We’re here to unravel some of that confusion!
Take, for instance, electronic stability control, available on the 2018 INFINITI QX30. This computerized technology improves a vehicle's balance by detecting and reducing the loss of traction or skidding.
When a loss of steering control is detected, this technology automatically applies the brakes individually to each wheel to correct for improper trajectory until the vehicle is back on the path the driver intended. Engine power is also reduced until authority over the car is regained.
This important safety feature is reassuring to have because it can act as a helper when you don’t react quite quickly enough. In addition, electronic stability control is ideal for slippery road conditions, all too common in Washington due to rain and winter weather.
The QX30 boasts a number of other great safety features, including a panic alarm, security system, and a low tire pressure warning. Stop by INFINITI of Tacoma today and test drive this fantastic vehicle!Â

When you’re on the road, the safety of your passengers is paramount. Fortunately, INFINITI features a vast array of precautions to keep everyone in the vehicle well. Some of these specifications may be difficult to understand by name alone, since automakers often classify things in slightly confusing ways. However, we are here today to discuss and demystify one such addition to the 2018 Q50, the occupant sensing airbag.
Believe it or not, airbags are not inflated from compressed gas, but rather the products of a chemical reaction of sodium azide, or NaN3. Typically, this molecule is very stable. However, when it is heated, it will disintegrate and produce nitrogen.
Nitrogen as a gas is what causes your airbags to inflate. Sensors in the front of an automobile know if there has been a collision and trigger these safety mechanisms to deploy. This is all well and good for full-sized adults. How about for smaller folks or children, however?
This is where occupant sensing airbags come in. They are able to tell the size and weight of passenger and adjust direction or strength accordingly to safeguard against injuries. This is very important, because serious damage to smaller riders can occur if safety equipment deploys at full force.
The 2018 Q50 features occupant sensing airbags in addition to a number of other amazing amenities, so you can always travel with peace of mind. Stop by INFINITI of Tacoma today and take a test drive!Â

For those of you unfamiliar with the many processes that go on under the hood of your 2018 INFINITI Q50 while you’re driving it — well, you're not alone. Allow me to enlighten you on one of them, today. Featuring an advanced direct-injection gasoline system, this luxury sports sedan benefits from a cleaner and more efficient engine.
DIG is an innovative fuel-delivery technology that utilizes high pressures to remit a more exact amount of juice into the combustion cell — dependant on the throttle position and engine speed. In these DIG setups, the air and gasoline are not pre-mixed before entering the chamber. Rather, they are delivered separately — the air through the intake manifold and the gas directly into the cylinder.
Thanks to ultra-precise internal computer management, there is more accurate control of the metering. This accuracy equates to complete combustion and more bang for your buck out of every precious drop of gasoline. In fact, with this ingenuitive powertrain, the Q50 sees a 6.7% improvement in fuel economy over previous models. Rated to earn up to 23 MPG in the city and 30 MPG on the highway, those are numbers you could write home about.

The 2019 INFINITI QX50 is a pretty unique vehicle for a variety of reasons — not the least of which is the fact that it's available with Intelligent All-Wheel Drive. Thanks to over two decades of research and discovery, this proprietary AWD focus is able to provide you with the power and support you need, where and when you need it.
By constantly monitoring a combination of variables such as wheel spin, throttle position, and vehicle speed, the QX50 can instantly adapt to various road situations in real time. When circumstances are less than optimal, or a loss of traction is either predicted or detected, the internal CPU will automatically divert up to 50% of the available torque to the front wheels. This on-the-fly adjustment enhances friction and contact to the pavement in order to deliver more stability in times of need.
Alternatively, in normal to good conditions, the system sends 100% of the energy to the rear tires. This RWD mode offers operators more responsive road performance so that they can truly enjoy the athletic prowess of this advanced crossover.

When you’re shopping for a new car, it can be hard to understand the complicated lists of specifications that manufacturers include in vehicle information. Some terms are more straightforward than others, as well. For instance, do you know what high-intensity discharge headlights are? The 2017 INFINITI QX60 includes these, so if you’re in the market, you’ll want to learn additional information about what they are.
These headlights use a bi-xenon technology to produce a better, bluer ray than halogen ones. They emit less heat and are brighter than traditional bulbs. This technology works using an electric arc between tungsten electrodes that are housed inside a translucent or transparent fused quartz or aluminum tube.
Though high-intensity discharge headlights are difficult to look at directly, they produce a safer driving experience because of their improved brightness. The 2017 INFINITI QX60 is filled with superior features like these. Heated leather seats keep you comfortable, and rear reading bulbs make the trip better for your passengers. In addition, an attractive spoiler makes the vehicle appear extremely sporty.
Stop by INFINITI of Tacoma to test drive the fantastic QX60 today. You’re sure to love its high-intensity discharge headlights, as well as its many other amazing features. Hurry in!Â

Reading the laundry list of specs accompanying new vehicles can be overwhelming to say the least. Have you ever wondered what some of the complicated terms might mean? For instance, what exactly is brake assist?
Brake assist is actually just what it sounds like. It is an active vehicle safety feature designed to help drivers come to a stop more quickly during an emergency. It works by being able to predict panic or hurried efforts to halt the car and helps to apply extra pressure to cut the speed to zero miles an hour.
The 2018 INFINITI QX30 has a number of amazing features like brake assist that make it a safe bet. For instance, a front and rear anti-roll bar, part of the vehicle’s suspension, helps stabilize it and keep it from tipping over. In addition, a variety of airbags, including one at knee-level and another that senses occupant size, offer peace of mind, no matter the circumstances.
In addition, the QX30 features a panic alarm and a security system to keep your vehicle and belongings safe. A low tire pressure warning means you won’t ever have to worry about being caught off guard.
Stop by INFINITI of Tacoma today and test drive the fantastic QX30. From brake assist to its variety of other safety features, you will always feel secure in this great vehicle!

If you drive or love INFINITI vehicles, you’re probably all about their specs. At times, though, you may see some terms thrown around with which you are unfamiliar. Auto lingo is very specific and often varies by manufacturer, so it’s no wonder it can be a little confusing.
Take for instance the HomeLink Universal Transceiver. It sounds high-tech, right? Featured on many INFINITI vehicles, including the 2017 QX50, this fancy-sounding term actually refers to something fairly simple (yet amazing).
The HomeLink Universal Transceiver lets you take charge of your technology. It can be programmed to operate as many as three remotely controlled devices at your house, such as garage doors, lighting, or security systems. Being able to manipulate these from a vehicle is a big deal.
You can even store garage door or security codes within the program. The HomeLink is located on the ceiling of your car, above the driver’s center console. It’s convenient and makes life easier every time you forgot to turn off the light or alarm the house.
If this sounds like something you want on your next car, stop by our INFINITI of Tacoma dealership today. Take a test drive of the 2017 QX50, which showcases this amazing technology, as well as plenty of other excellent features, such as heated seats with memory. Hurry in!Â

You may have noticed that many vehicles in our luxury lineup — such as the 2018 INFINITI QX30 — possess turbocharged engines or, colloquially referred to as “turbo†for short. And if you’re anything like me, you may have assumed that that’s just a decorative descriptor word added to the nomenclature in order to make the ride sound exceptionally fast.
However, it turns out that a turbocharger is actually a legitimate motor device used to increase an internal combustion unit’s efficiency and energy output.Â
Â
Powered by an exhaust-driven turbine, the turbocharger compresses and forces extra air into the combustion chamber. By squeezing more oxygen into a cylinder, it means that more fuel can also be added. The result is a more significant production of force and dynamic HP. Not bad, right?
So, the next time you see that fancy familiar feature used on a spec sheet, you might be more inclined to take the respective ride for a spin.Â

If you’re anything like the typical car-shopper, then you likely don’t speak automotive jargon, and you probably have no idea what a dual-clutch transmission is or how it could benefit you. It’s normal. However, knowing the details may help you make a more informed decision the next time you’re comparing spec sheets.
Let’s talk basics first. In a manual vehicle, in order to change gears, the operator must depress a clutch pedal that briefly disconnects the engine from the transmission. For this reason, it’s common to feel that sort of lurching motion between levels.
In a dual-clutch transmission, however, there are...you guessed it...two couplings controlled not by pedals but electronically through the internal CPU. Because the two units operate a separate set of gears, the transitions can happen fluidly without interrupting power flow.Â
The result and benefits to you are quicker, smoother changes, as well as better efficiency (it's rated at 24 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway). Want to learn more about this feature? Stop by our dealership today to test drive our dual-clutch equipped INFINITI QX30.

Chances are, you already know the difference between AWD and RWD. In case the nomenclature is unfamiliar, let’s recap: The former utilizes all tires for enhanced traction, while the latter delivers more responsive road performance.
Now, with INFINITI’s Intelligent All Wheel Drive, you don’t have to sacrifice one quality for another. Available in most new models, including the 2018 QX60, I-AWD delivers both power and support when and where you need it.
Capable of instantaneously adapting to changing terrains for stable road-holding, the system works by continually monitoring variables such as wheel spin, throttle position, and velocity of the vehicle. Under good conditions, 100% of the energy is directed to the rear to provide zippy handling and athletic prowess.
However, when conditions are less than optimal, the smart CPU will automatically divert up to 50% of the available torque to the front tires in order to enhance friction and contact with the pavement.
The best part of all is that the entire operation functions autonomously, requiring no extra thought or effort from the operator. Want to learn more about this innovative feature? Contact our dealership today.
