To Robert,
My 2018 Nissan Rogue is taking longer than usual to start. I know engine problems relating to combustion are sometimes due to bad spark plugs: could this be the case?
Thanks,
Tony
Hi, Tony!
I’m sorry to hear you’re having problems with your 2018 Nissan Rogue; I can’t say what's going on for sure without inspecting your vehicle, but bad spark plugs definitely could cause this problem.
Spark plugs ignite the air/fuel mixture in your vehicle’s cylinder: this is what starts your car's engine and keeps it running.
As your plugs get older, the gap at the top of them widens which slows the spark down and makes it weaker. If this is the issue with your Rogue, it would result in a few extra churns to start its engine.
The problem is, a bad battery or starter could also cause this issue. So, it would be best for you to come down to our Service Department and let the Technicians determine what exactly is happening.
Thanks for your question, Tony! Don’t hesitate to contact Kirkland Nissan, Washington again if you ever need anything else.
