If you are searching for a truck that runs on an alternative to conventional gasoline, then you need to take a look at the 2021 Jeep Gladiator. Compared with the 2021 Chevrolet Colorado, this diesel powertrain is far superior.
Â
The optional 3.0-litre Ecodiesel V6 motor pushes out 260 hp and an astonishing 442 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to the 8-speed automatic transmission and Variable Geometry Turbo technology, you can expect to get around 10.7 L/100 km (22 mpg) in the city and 8.4 L/100 km (28 mpg) on the highway. It can also tow up to 2,948 kg (6,500 lbs) without breaking a sweat.
Â
On the other hand, the Chevy Colorado diesel is a turbocharged 2.8-litre 4-cylinder unit. Smaller and not as powerful, it generates only 181 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. Partnered with a 6-speed automatic transmission, you might assume that it would get better mileage. However, this is not the case. It is rated at around 13.1 L/100 km (18 mpg) in the city and 10.7 L/100 km (22 mpg) on the highway. The maximum hauling limit is capped at 2,267 kg (5,000 lbs), which is much lower than the Gladiator as well.
