Are you in the market for a powerful pickup with heavy-duty capabilities? If you said yes, then you need to compare the 2021 Ram 3500 to the 2021 GMC Sierra 3500. These two full-size trucks each offer high outputs, but one is superior to the other.
Â
Let’s start with the standard engines. The Ram 3500 usually comes with a 6.4-litre HEMI V8 with Variable Valve Timing. Also featuring FuelSaver Multi-Displacement Technology, it delivers 410 hp and 429 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, the GMC Sierra 3500 is fitted with a 6.6-litre V8. Although it is larger, it only pushes out 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque.
Â
Next are the turbocharged diesel options. The Ram 3500 offers two choices. Both are 6.7-litre Inline-6 units designed by Cummins. The first makes 385 hp and 850 lb-ft of torque, and the High-Output version generates a 420 hp and 1,075 lb-ft of torque (Best-In-Class). Meanwhile, the GMC Sierra 3500 boasts a 6.6-litre V8 that produces 445 hp and only 910 lb-ft of torque.
